Festival Wagons Sale!

by Romany, March 18th 2012

Ex-Hire Wagons up for grabs… errr, all gone in fact!

UPDATE: These are now all sold.  We are still selling new wagons, but there are no second hand ones left – sorry!

We need more space and decided to sell off our wooden hire wagons.

They are only 1 year old and in very good condition.   They have all been lovingly hand-painted with at least 4 coats of very expensive Yacht Varnish (it took us DAYS!!)

They come complete with a cute red waterproof chuck wagon style cover (most covers are brand new as they were barely used last summer)

These wagons usually cost £75 each unassembled and untreated – buying these ready-varnished and fully assembled will save you a LOT of time and energy, and they will stay looking good for years to come.

£60 each – SOLD OUT (available new only)

Wagons are synonymous with the festival scene and your kids will be eyeing up everyone else’s wagons if you don’t have one yourselves… They are also really useful to cart all your gear from your car to your camping spot.

They are cute, practical and lots of fun.  Our small wooden wagons are attractive and really versatile – just what you need for a festival with little ones.

To give you an idea of size, the girl in the pictures is a small 8 year old – the base is about 75cm long.  She is curled up for the photo, and wouldn’t really be able to sleep in it – now that our children are older we just use the wagons to transport our coats, chairs, extra clothes, food, rugs etc. and then to give the tiredest one a ride back to the tent at night but when the kids were smaller they loved to sleep in it in the evenings.  For sleeping it will fit one toddler.

Features:

Removeable sides: take them all off and you have a picnic or colouring table, or leave one side on to make a bench (great for watching a band when the ground is wet or muddy).  Take one end panel out and you give your kids a little more room for longer legs.

They have all-terrain wheels to cope with uneven ground and can carry a load of up to 100kgs (that’s a lot of beer, oops, I mean kids!)

I used to get all my camping gear, 2 kids and a wagon into my VW Polo but I’m quite an experienced packer!  The wooden sides and base all come off and can be put on the floor of the boot, leaving the middle of the chassis empty, ready to fill with tents, sleeping bags and wellies!

  1. hello, Im trying to find information on hiring one of these wagons for wychwood this year. Could you please tell me where i can find this information?
    many thanks
    sam

    • Hi Sam,
I’m afraid I don’t think we’re hiring these out this year – they took up so much space in the van and this year I’m bringing my kids so I’ll have even less room!
You can buy one in the online shop though?
      Sorry about that – Romany

  2. hello
If for any reason one of these becomes available could I please have one?

  6. I’ve been dithering about getting a wagon but not sure we can fit one in the car. How small do they take apart to? Do the wheels come off the chassis or do you have to pack that intact into the boot? We are close to Reading – are you going to be using them for the August bank hol? (Don’t suppose you’re going to be at the Shrewsbury Folk Fest, are you??)

    • Hi Ellie,
The wheels don’t come off, but once you lift the woodwork off, the chassis is hollow so you can pack stuff inside it. If you are local then you are more than welcome to pop round one day/evening to see how it fits? Send me an email on chat@festivalkidz.com (chat null@null festivalkidz NULL.com)
