10, 11 and 12th of August 2012
Location: 12 miles from Norwich
Website: www.harlequinfayre.co.uk (http://www NULL.harlequinfayre NULL.co NULL.uk)
Harlequin Fayre has existed in various incarnations since 2008. It is put together with a great team of people, as a chance to relax in a beautiful setting for 3 days with good music, fine food, lovely company and organic beers. A weekend of wonder and colour, with dance, games and general foolishness thrown in. There are numerous parts that contribute to a great whole; Sustainable Futures, Healing, kids, Crafts and even some new areas this year.
Highlights for Families:
Pulling together brilliant elements from across the UK and further afield, to create a long weekend with much love and silliness, heaps of colour & craziness and the involvement of a huge number of great acts, amazing stalls, and loads of interactivity for adults, kids, and all in between. There’s a great Crafts Area where you can get involved and learn. Those of you with kids can relax, because the kids are safe and happy – in the Family Area there’s heaps of activities to enjoy together.
New to Festival this year:
New brilliant semi acoustic solar stage venue -
New venue tucked away in the woods, bringing you all things vinyl from around the world. Themed nights to be announced.
There’s now a whole new area, under some trees, far from campers…… It’s the Wyrd Sisters. In the day the space will play host to yoga and many other sessions, films and talks on ancient mysteries, and more modern ones. As dark falls the beasts will come out, spurred on by the beats of the DJs, the strange sights and all the other late night shenanigans. This is our new corner of calm, with it’s contrasting craziness.
The Crafts Area was really popular last year, so there’s a big push in that direction – learn new stuff!
Shows! Performances!
There’s also new elements of fairground to bring into the mix, a circus school, and the crafts area will have masses of craftspeople working with you to make something useful and beautiful for you to keep or give away.
There’s a lot about Harlequin Fayre that gets a little re-jig, and plenty that gets built on (this year – more loos, and more compost ones too!) and there’s also new acts, stalls, workshops, people and ideas…. there’s going to be a big push on getting dressed up for the occasion – bring your fancy things and chop an outfit around with others, there’s a space for it, and skilled costumiers to help! Those of you who are regulars will know about the beautiful Healing Area, about all the interesting stuff happening in the Sustainable Futures area, and you’d be unlikely to have missed the truly brilliant Kidz Area.
