What is Hay Festival?

Hay Festival was founded around a kitchen table in 1987, set in the Welsh border town of Hay-on-Wye in the staggering beauty of the Brecon Beacons.  The festival continues to attract the most exciting writers, filmmakers, comedians, politicians and musicians to inspire, delight and entertain.  For 10 days in May, Hay is full of stories, ideas, laughter and music.  The festival will be celebrating its 25th year in Hay this year.

Hay Fever a festival for tots, teens and inbetweens:

Every summer half-term the gates of Dairy Meadows in Hay are flung open to welcome thousands of families to Hay Fever.

In 2012 families can look forward to meeting a whole host of their literary heroes including: Lauren Child, Eoin Colfer, Cressida Cowell, Polly Dunbar, Charlie Higson, Axel Scheffler, Marcus Sedgwick, Darren Shan, Francesca Simon, Andy Stanton, Jeremy Strong, Patrick Ness, Jacqueline Wilson and so many more.
