Reviews: 2018, 2017 2016.

The perfect festival to kickstart the season – mellow WOOD packs a significant punch with fascinating talks, brilliant workshops and a superb atmosphere for kids.

Tiny, intimate, folky, chilled and incredibly friendly festival with lots of hands-on workshops for all the family.

Wood say: “Our mission is to build community and connection, celebrate creativity and craft, and become aware of our place in nature. We aim to create a safe place where children (and adults) can be free to explore;
We aim to run our event on 100% renewable energy, and to recycle and reuse our waste products where possible.

Apart from dancing barefoot in the grass or just chilling out to some fantastic bands, there are so many workshops and activities aimed directly at children. They’re also welcome to join in the vast array of more general workshops aimed at adults, but will probably need some assistance from a grown-up.

Here is a list of some of the wonderful children’s activities that were available at Wood Festival in 2018:

Nick Cope

Wild Boor Theatre

Spanish singalong

Facepainting

Den Building in the woods

Jewellery Making

Clay Sculpture

Arts & Crafts

Baby Bumpkin Yoga

Tatty Bumpkin Yoga

and so much more…

The site and facilities

Set in the fields in the beautiful surroundings of the Braziers Park community.

Great compost loos – so much nicer to look out over the woodlands than use a smelly cramped portable plastic toilet unit!

The site is compact and easy to get around, and feels very safe to let children of a suitable age wander freely with their new friends.

Parking is in the field next door, so you will have a bit of a walk to reach the camping area, but nothing like the larger festivals.
