Cornbury Music Festival has been a Festival Kidz favourite for many years. Its welcoming, safe and friendly atmosphere make it a hit among families. People come back year after year and say it is the highlight of their summer.
Known affectionately as ‘Poshstock’, this is definitely a festival for people who like their festivals to be nice.
It’s hyper middle-class with VIP opportunities galore, and picnic blankets and camping chairs aplenty. But everyone is welcome and it never feels too elitist.
Food is top-notch and while there are luxury items available, general festival fare is reasonably priced.
Kids’ activities are well thought out and plentiful, and there is a fab teen tent, The Mayflower, for older children.
It’s a great festival to let tweens and teens have their first experience of roaming a festival site by themselves. It’s large enough for them to feel independent, while small and safe enough to be comforting for parents. Kids this age will also enjoy the fairground rides and range of stalls on offer selling festival gear.
Posh loos, When Nature Calls, are available at an extra cost, but general toilet facilities are always clean and well stocked throughout the grounds.
The site is easy to get around and flat.
Family camping is very spacious and quiet, with plentiful toilets and showers and a beautiful view.
Music leans towards country and pop, and you will always find some real musical legends drawing the crowds.
**2017 was due to be the last year for Cornbury, but due to overwhelming demand, it is back for 2018!**

Hi Craig
Are you planning on taking a camper van? If so, yes, it is my understanding that there is no designated ‘quiet field’ for live-in vehicles. I would personally always prefer to be able to choose family or quiet camping with youngsters to be on the safe side, although depending on what type of vehicle you are in, any noise would obviously be more limited than when you are in a tent. The camper van field is separate from General Camping anyway and may well be quieter but I can’t vouch for that. It’s worth bearing in mind that our 2014 reviewer commented that even in the quiet field they could hear music going on until about 1 a.m. I understand it to be a reasonably compact site, so wouldn’t expect you to be too far from the music wherever you were camped. I’ve checked the Cornbury web site’s FAQ and no, they do not provide electric hook-ups. Maybe have a read through the rest of the Festival Kidz site at the many, many festivals covered before deciding which is the right one for you and your family, and also check out the Festival Kidz 2014 review plus the Cornbury web site (both linked to above). We hope you have a great festival whatever you do decide – Cornbury certainly sounds like it has a lot to offer for families!
Hello I came across your festival in a national paper and thought it may suite the family ie 4yr old and 1 yr old with plenty to see and do. I have read through your info and it appears we are unable to access the quiet camping/caravanning site. Would we be amongst the lively party crowd, don’t get me wrong we would love to be amongst them however with the children I’m concerned it would be noisy. If this is the case can you tell me how far it is from the campsite to the music site? Also do you have electric hook ups? Sorry for all the questions we really are easy going just don’t want the V festival crowd.
