Jimmy’s Harvest Festival

cancelled

Location: Jimmy`s Farm, Pannington Hall Lane, Wherstead, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP9 2AR

Website: jimmysfarm.com

This is one of those festivals that seems to have been created with families in mind. From the main stage to the campsite a lot of thought has gone into keeping the younger festival goers happy and entertained and that of course makes for happy grownups too.

Entertainment

There is entertainment on the main stage with big names. If a more relaxed vibe is needed there is an acoustic stage in a vegetable garden and the Flying Seagulls are in the Chipolatas kid’s zone, offering a great range of music, dancing, storytelling, circus skills and more. Jimmy’s Farm is a great family day out even when the festival isn’t on and the normal attractions are still there including farm animals, play areas and a butterfly house.

Food and Drink

But what about the Beer and the Sausages? There is of course a strong emphasis on food and drink with chef demos and a sausage eating competition in addition to a host of food stalls including vegetarian options and of course a whole lot of sausages. The drinks on offer include plenty of craft beer as well as cider, cocktails and mocktails for the kids (or those who know they will be up early with them)!

Camping

If you do have an early riser it’s good to know that the BBQ breakfast and coffee van on the campsite opens at 6.30am. There is also a communal area with a giant tipi providing kids entertainment from 8.30am plus BBQ, pizzas and a bar right on the campsite in the evening. (The bar closes at 11pm, so shouldn’t cause much late night noise). Jimmy’s Farm are running the campsite themselves this year and camping tickets have already sold out. But there are plenty of other local options listed on the site and day tickets are still available.

More information and tickets are available from the festival’s website.
