The first Lakefest took place in 2012 to wide critical acclaim. Each year the team has built on previous years’ successes to make Lakefest even better, especially for families.
2016 saw a brand new location for Lakefest, with a move to the grounds of Eastnor Castle. Complete with lakes and simply stunning surroundings, Lakefest invite you to join them for another year of musical magic.
The Site and Facilities
Imagine a weekend spent beneath a canopy of stars, a magical castle as your backdrop, amazing musical acts, and all while surrounded by friends and family. You don’t want it to end by going home each night. Well, you don’t have to. Lakefest weekend camping is the ultimate way to enjoy the festival to its fullest.
There will be three main areas for camping:
- Live-in vehicles with electric hook-up.
- A family field, containing an area for tents and an area for live-in vehicles (non hook-up).
- A groups field, containing an area for tents and an area for live-in vehicles (non hook-up).
There will also be an area for tipis and toilets will be located in each area.
Showers and water points are located in the family field and close to the live-in vehicles with electric hook-up.
If you wish to bring a campervan/caravan you will need to purchase a campervan ticket. All occupants must be in the possession of a weekend ticket with camping.
Boutique Camping
Want to go posh and leave the tent at home? A range of boutique camping options are available at Lakefest, including tipis and a Podpad village, with pods sleeping from 2 – 6, including beds and a range of accessories.
We just returned from Lakefest 2015,left early because we were firstly shocked that so much of the kids area we had to pay extra for,also that with kids in buggy it was impossible to wade our way through the sea of blankets and chairs around the main stage,very selfish but very typical of the middle class champagne socialists that attend this “festival”,music tents too close to each other so you can’t hear (or see) from outside. My kids 6 & 3 enjoyed paddling in the lake but that was about all they could do that didn’t cost extra! Shocked and disgusted by the high ticket price and lack of entertainment definitely could not recommend this event to friends 🙁
We went to Lakefest for the first time in 2014 with a 6 and 8 year old. It is small, relaxed, beautiful setting and has things for the kids. There was no family camping last year which was missed at 5am when a group camping next to us had a loud disco into the next day. The drinks were reasonably priced and the kids loved the pancakes. We all enjoyed the music (even some dubious language from Fun Lovin Criminals)….my son loves folk music and met one of the singers who is now his music hero. This was a great festival to introduce kids to live music in, no trouble, friendly staff, not too big. Weve done Green Man but enjoyed this more.
I believe they have family camping again this year….our tickets are booked.
Our vote to lake fest. Took 5 year old and 3 month old and it was brilliant
A fantastic, intimate little family friendly festival, with loads of activities dedicated to kids. All of the activities were accessible too, no waiting around for too long.
Toilet facilities this year were good quality, but need more of them. Also better/more disabled toilets please. All 18 of us will be returning next year…can’t wait!
Lakefest was an amazing weekend for the whole family my 10 year old enjoyed it so much and already looking forward to next year.
