kidsThere is a Kids Camp promising arts and crafts, wildlife walks, foraging forays, sensory gardening, face painting and fancy dress as well as nightime cosy-ups under the stars with hot chocolate and marshmallows, huddled in for campfire songs and enchanted storytelling.

There’s an interactive art installation from Land of Kids, and theatre workshops including acting, costume making and prop making.

For older children they offer all sorts of outdoor activities such as kayaking, rock climbing and surfing – these need to be booked in advance and cost extra – check the website for further details.

Camping

The festival spreads across a beautiful, undulating landscape. There are some temporary roads in place but the landscape can be difficult to traverse, especially if the weather is bad. Some areas, such as the steep slopes may not be accessible in bad weather. There is no mention of special family camping so it would be good to pack light for this one!

Music and Entertainment

The festival promises a first class line up with Jack Johnson, Ben Howard and Spiritulized topping the main stage. There is a variety tent and theatre and circus acts, including the great Bearded Kitten who will run their usual crazy frolics.

If the festival gets too much for you, the site is in beautiful countryside within easy reach of the beach, and there are bookable activities such as rock climbing and surfing for the more adventurous!

Boutique Babysitting

Rmorekidsecommended by both the Good Nanny Agency Guide and Bestbear, Mortimer Nannies’ amazing team of caring and creative Nannies and CRB-checked assistants will be holding play sessions throughout the weekend. In addition to a yurt brimming with vintage board games, fancy dress and toys, they will also be hosting a range of fun, crafty, messy activities, outdoor games and cosy film evenings with blankets and beanbags to snuggle down in and snooze on, for when your little wild ones tire of revelling!

All proceeds raised by Mortimer Nannies will be donated to the Kids Company Charity who provide practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children.

Food and drink

There are long table feasts with top celebrity chefs – at lunchtime children are welcome but it might be difficult to make them sit for that long! These can be booked in advance. There will be other food stalls selling reasonably priced food and drink, no mention of children’s meals so it might be best to bring most of your own food with you.
