We have been attending Watchet festival for a number of years. For the last 3 we have taken our Grandaughter who lives with us. I have had no hesitation in taking her as it is a well run, friendly and safe place to be. We have friends with slightly older children and my brother attended this year with his 12 year old step daughter. She was able to take the younger children in and out the camping site, visit the stalls and go into the kids area without us being over worried about them all.it is in a lovely place looking at beautiful seas and moor. The town with the free bus ride is an added bonus. We have attended larger and equal sized festivals but Watchet exceels. Nothing seems to be too much for the organisers and we will keep on attending.
This was our first family festival and my two children (6 and 8) absolutely loved it.
The family camping area was great and the whole site felt really safe and secure with loads of staff around. The activities that were on for the children were fantastic and we didn’t once have a bored moment. They really loved the baking and the craft tent ( and I couldn’t believe it was all free!) The dressing up on Sunday was great fun and added to the experience for the children. They had late nights and early mornings but no melt downs as there was so much going on to keep them entertained.
On the way home they were already planning next years trip!
We attended Watchet festival for the first time this year. We brought our 8 year old daughter and our 3 month old baby. The festival was very child friendly and my daughter absolutely loved it. We regularly attend Bearded Theory and this was of a similar caliber, though slightly smaller. The family campsite was well organised and the toilets were extremely clean for portaloos! Additionally, there was a kids tent with activities on the Saturday activities nd Sunday activities need a baby tent where you could feed and change your little one. The festival also put on complementary bus to Watchet town centre. This ran regularly throughout Saturday and Sunday and allowed you to do a bit of sight seeing, food shopping and, in our case, have a pub lunch. All in all a fab time was had by all. This is definitely a family friendly festival and one which we will undoubtedly travel down to again.
Fantastic festival came as a family of 2 adults and 2 children one aged 15 and one 12. Kids had a great time. It felt very safe. Lots of security and police around. Did not see any anti social behaviour at all. The bar and security were very strict on checking ids so kids did not get served and security took any alcohol off anyone they did see drinking who was underage.
Lots for kids of all ages to see and do. Mine lived the silent disco!
Family campsite perfect away from the main camping with parking close by, its own toilets and food van.
Lots of food sellers available good range and very fairly priced.
10 minute walk into Watchet great for a walk around.
Brilliant weekend, great atmosphere and great music
I took my 3 grand children ages 7,8 & 10 years to the Watchet Music Festival and found it very child friendly! I was offered a pen to write my mobile number on their wrist bands in case they got lost. I could then be contacted at any time, fortunately this was not required. They thoroughly enjoyed trying out the Circus props, unicycles, juggling hoops etc and the Lego Tent, during the day.! On the Sunday they dressed in Alice in Wonderland fancy dress costumes and enjoyed participating. We had lovely Cornish pasties for tea and enjoyed the evenings entertainment especially the Wurzels which they sang along to.
I have been helping out here since it started and it is a fabulous venue, safe for children great entertainment for all age groups, safe camping area very good security, toilets, food venues and choice of 3 to 4 different areas for music. Well worth a visit. it’s great value and Watchet is a fabulous place and the views from the site are among the best in country!
As a new resident to Watchet, this sounds really interesting
