Gather some friends, find a piece of land, back garden or corner of a campsite. Decorate with flags and bunting, borrow a bell tent, round up a bunch of musicians and your very own festie could be born.

I’m tired, slightly hungover, muddy and more than a tad dishevelled… I’m thinking there are better days to meet the co-director of your favourite festival, but the opportunity to have a chat with such a busy person on their home turf doesn’t arise that often so I slap on some mascara, grab my notebook and drag myself off to the Press Garden.

What to wear at festivals if you’re pregnant?
Normally for a festival I don’t go in for the festival “fashion” that the magazines suggest. (Why, why, why would you ever wear a maxi dress to a festival?! It’s probably the most impractical thing to wear apart from those dreadful playsuits!).

Maybe it’s because many of my fellow mummy friends (who have never been to a festival) think that I will be spending the weekend covered head to toe in mud, surrounded by drunk people and being bashed around in a mosh pit. The Wishing Line: Nibley
Have the festival fairies granted your wishes yet?
We had such a lovely time at Nibley Music Festival. What a great bunch of organisers – all volunteers, and the most well-organised and friendliest event we’ve been to in ages!
We put a Wishing Line outside the Festival Kidz stall and were over-loaded with so many of you hanging out your laundry on our line! We managed to collect up most of your wishes and pass them on to the festival fairies – did yours make the list?
I wish I was a rat – Arthur age 5
I wish we have a lovly holiday – Loann age 8
I wish my grandad came back to life
I wish everyone was quiet – Rosie age 6
Love Outdoor Play
Back in January, I learned of the Love Outdoor Play campaign. I wanted to add my voice to the campaign because I am a huge fan of the outdoors and feel that modern children are losing out on opportunities to explore freely outside, so when Daniel (Mission:Explore / The Geography Collective), one of the organisers behind the campaign, asked me to write a guest blog I was delighted!
