Chilled in a Field is a firm favourite of Festival Kidz. It is a small, very laid back festival, with lots of creative activities for children.
Taking place at Bentley in Sussex 26-28th July it’s the perfect relaxed start to the school holidays. Here’s a chance to win TWO family day tickets so you can treat your besties too!
We absolutely love the woodland DJ’s at this family-friendly festival who take parents right back to the 90’s dance scene while kids play in the gorgeous setting. There’s plenty of great live music too. Friday night will see Black Futures on the main stage. Saturday headliners The Inexplicables and Sunday sees Jaya returning. There will be a whole host of other bands performing across the weekend (details on our Music page), not forgetting the brilliant Alumni DJ crew on the woodland stage.
Here’s our very own video of Sunday night – this gives an idea of the size and friendliness of this festival. Don’t expect big names – just good music and a friendly crowd up for a dance!
All activities at this festival are free. Yes, FREE! The Bentley estate where it is held is lucky to be home to a miniature railway who charge £1 for a ride around the site. A great way to wave at all your new festival friends! Branching Out Adventures, a treetop rope course is also within the estate (additional fee).
The main kids’ tent in the festival is run by Wonderland, who also organise parties in London. Their activities are always slightly off the wall – a glitter shower and live hungry hippos! There’s also a teen tent with activities such as beatboxing and DJ workshops and a bouncy castle, giant slide, plenty of arts and crafts and lots of silly games. This year’s theme is Bedsticks and Boomknobs so expect fun to match!
The festival is small enough to give little ones a bit of freedom without the fear of them wandering too far. It’s one of the friendliest festivals we’ve ever come across and even if you don’t like the idea of camping you can just visit for the day. A great way to dip your toe into festival life with kids if you are not quite sure. There are also glamping bell tents to hire or you can camp just across the road at Embers Campsite and just visit the festival for the day.
Chilled in a field is all about relaxing and making new friends which we’re sure you will do but here’s a chance to win 2 family day tickets to the day of your choice. Your family could be enjoying all this soon and bring your best friends along too!
The organisers have also offered our winner the option to upgrade their prize to a family weekend ticket.
