One World Summer Festival

One World Summer Festival: 12-18 Aug 2014

Location: Cannington, Somerset

What are the highlights for families and children?

One World is a fantastic festival for families who are interested in alternative lifestyles. Individuals and families come together from all over the world to share a unique atmosphere of rest and activity, fun and freedom, challenge and adventure.

The One World Festival is run by the One World Health Foundation.  Though there is a lot of music, it is not a music festival.  Every day of the festival there is a creche for children aged 3 and under (mornings only) and workshops for all other children running all day (supervised so that the children can be left while you go to the adult workshops).  There is a full programme for all children which usually includes crafts, sport, circus skills, theatre, music, storytelling and much more.  For the adults there are four workshop sessions during the day and two in the evenings.  In each session there will be a choice of around 10 possible workshops to attend.

What makes One World unique?

The One World Festival makes a great family holiday and you are sure to leave having made new friends.  The fact that it is over two weeks means you can come for a day, a week or the full two weeks.  The children get a chance to settle down and make new friends too.

The mix of workshops is exceptionally diverse and there is something to appeal to everyone.   Check out the full programme on the website.

Accommodation:

You can attend the festival as a camper or in rooms, and you can self cater or be fully catered for (macrobiotic food).  Most people opt for the catered option since this is a great opportunity to get to know people too.
