Anyone with kids of a certain age will be very familiar with the adorable Marvin the Sheep and his loving friend Molly. I must’ve read the gorgeously illustrated children’s book ‘Marvin Wanted More’ to my pair nearly every night for several years!
Since then Marvin has been getting into all sorts of adventures and, in his latest story book ‘Marvin and Molly’… Marvin ends up at a festival in search of some ‘special things’.
Marvin and Molly had my kids giggling away, and we think it is a great little book to read with your kids before taking them to their first festival, as well as to read after you have been to help remind them of their festival fun! Or you can just read it anyway – it’s a sweet storyline about friendship, growing up, and the importance of being yourself and allowing yourself to be a little bit crazy.
You may have worked out by now that I have a bit of a soft spot for CoolCamping books… and this one is no exception. I loved the first edition. I read it from cover to cover like a novel. And guess what?… when this one arrived I did exactly the same thing!!
The photography is gorgeous – it just makes me want to pack the marshmallows and head for the nearest campfire with the kids… Read more…
The freedom, the green space, the stars, the campfire…
When we go camping as a family we choose somewhere that the kids can run around, somewhere away from the crowds, and definitely somewhere as far away from places with laid-on ‘kid’s entertainers’ as we can possibly get!!! For us, camping is about embracing the great outdoors and back to basics living. It’s not about being a cheap holiday replacement so we don’t look for resort-type activities or facilities.
So when the guys and gals at Punk Publishing sent me a review copy of their latest book, the second edition of Tiny Campsites, I was delighted!

Yes, I admit it, I actually let out an audible squeak this morning as I opened up my review copy of this gorgeous new Cool Camping book, just published by Punk Publishing. I couldn’t help myself… it is so sumptuously divine.
In true Cool Camping style the book is full of the most beautiful inviting photography that makes you feel like you are right there, like I could touch and feel those beautiful fabrics… I thought could even smell the smoky canvas of those stunning yurts.
We got very excited when the Geography Collective asked us to review their latest book. As if the first Mission:Explore book wasn’t fun enough, they have now released a whole new set of missions tailored specifically to our favourite pastime: Camping!
There are 50 all-new missions included in the book that are guaranteed to get kids both involved in, and intrigued by, their surroundings. From playing a challenging game of hide and seek in bright clothing to imagining the campsite 1000 years ago, young explorers will have to use every ounce of creativity and ingenuity they possess to complete their missions.
