Meet Dean the Art Wizard

Hi all festival fanatics,

My name is Dean and I’ve been working with children of all ages at festivals & events within the UK but mainly within the Midlands as Dean The Art Wizard & friends!

Take a look at this film of us creating the Summer Sundae logo with friends & family, we created an enormous guitar including a Summer Sundae vase created from beer cans collected at the festival. We also used plastic pint glasses, recycled vinyl records, Cd’s & tape cassettes. Read more…

Junkfish – Festival Arts and Crafts

Last summer, we took the Festival Kidz stall to Nibley Music Festival, a small ultra-family-friendly festival in a stunning Cotswolds location.  One of the festival highlights is undoubtedly the huge craft tent run by Liz and her dedicated bunch of volunteers.  The tent has been so popular that she’s decided to turn her skills into a small business and ‘Junkfish‘ was born.  We invited Liz to tell us more about her new venture. Pregnant Festivalling Part 2

I was 16 weeks pregnant when we went to Camp Bestival. Now if my last pregnancy was anything to go by then I felt amazing at 16 weeks, in fact the whole second trimester was just wonderful for me and we went on a lovely holiday to Cornwall where we did a lot of walking. I had more energy and was able to eat normally again and started to glow. Read more…

OUR FAMILY

We were festival novices having never attended a festival before either as a couple or with our children. We are in our early thirties with two little girls, aged 2 and 4.  We’ve been following Festival Kidz for a while now and, inspired by their blogs and articles, decided we were ready to try out a festival as a family and see for ourselves whether it really was as much fun as it sounds!

Pregnant Festivalling Part 1

Many people would baulk in horror at the thought of going to a festival when pregnant, I however don’t see an issue with it at all. Maybe it’s because many of my fellow mummy friends (who have never been to a festival) think that I will be spending the weekend covered head to toe in mud, surrounded by drunk people and being bashed around in a mosh pit. The Cornbury Music Festival 2011 Review

arriving at cornbury festival

After a wonderful weekend of fun, music and frivolities with my two lovely festival kids, it’s taken me a few days to regain normality to our routine, hardly surprising when The Cornbury Festival was so entertaining!! Only a half hour’s drive from our home town, in a beautiful countryside setting, who could resist a weekend away with so much to offer? Alpro Soya asked me to come along as their guest to The Cornbury Festival on behalf of Festival Kidz and see how us festival goers really enjoyed ourselves, sampling their free tasty goodies all weekend at the Alpro Breakfest Stand too!!
