Woodlands Festival is an intimate, family festival set in beautiful Hawkhurst, Kent. It’s somewhere you feel you can truly relax and unwind, have some fun in the field and; where kids can be kids again!

And, due to its intimate size, this is a great first-time festival for the little ones.

Woodlands Festival 2019 Review

We popped along to Woodlands Festival for the day to check it out.

Families braved some torrential rain and winds to put even the toughest campers off on Friday evening but on Saturday to sun shone, the fancy dress came out, and the glitter flowed. A great day was had by all in the lovely location of Elm Wood in Kent.

New Discoveries for 2019

It’s great to have our favourite festivals that we return to year after year. But our writers are always aware of the wealth of exciting family festivals that we are yet to have covered on this site.

This year we’re lucky enough to have something new to try each month of the festival season. Therefore we have put together a guide of all the festivals new to Festival Kidz for 2019. We hope it inspires you to try something different too.

At the end of May, Lisa M is heading off to Cornwall for The Great Estate, June sees FestivalKidz trying out Woodlands Festival. In July, Naomi visits Magical Festival, and in August Sarah is hoping to make it to Maui Waui.

Remember to check back to see what we thought of our new discoveries when we review them later in the year.

Try something new!

We all have our favourite festivals we want to return to year after year but there are so many festivals in the UK (and abroad!) that we haven’t tried. So this year we all picked a festival that Festival Kidz hasn’t covered yet.

In May Naomi is trying out the gorgeous Shindig Weekender. June sees Sarah checking out Woodlands Festival. In July Lisa R is going to the brand new Timber Festival, Kirsty is going to Port Eliot Festival and Christina is reviewing our first ever French festival, Enchanted Arts. Then in August Lisa M is going to Wickham Festival and Catherine is hoping to try out Victorious and Carfest.
