Boomtown Fair is a high-octane 4 day party with a great atmosphere.  Tons of great music across 12 stages and loads for the kids to get involved with too.

EXCLUSIVE: ARCADIA LANDS IN BOOMTOWN FOR THE ULTIMATE SHOW!!

Strange scenes have been unfolding during this sleepy winter in BoomTown. A monstrous mechanical beast known as Arcadia Spectacular has crash-landed and seized a whole area of downtown BoomTown! As an unprecedented festival exclusive, the likes of which have only ever been seen at the UKs biggest festival Glastonbury; BoomTown will feature the one and only incredible new Arcadia Spectacular show; a fusion of post apocalyptic huge moving sculptures, pyrotechnics, light and laser extravaganzas, aerial trapeze shows and a gargantuan Soundsystem. The Arcadia Spectacular is an epic, mind bending, assault on the senses that must be approached with caution, the fainthearted have been warned!

The town council have passed planning permission to venture into the surrounding, unexplored suburbs of BoomTown’s now perfect permanent home. The town walls will encompass the adjacent meadows and woodland where spacious luscious campsites with upgraded leisure facilities and hidden woodland parties will be found! Watch this space for more details as hidden tales of the woodland are discovered.

What’s on for Kids?

This is not a clean-cut, middle-class, Pimm’s Brigade festie – Boomtown is a raw and raucous collection of party people.  It’s loud, it’s vibrant, and everyone is out to have a good time.  This may not be the ideal festival for newbies, but if you love the ska scene and think crazy parties are fun rather than intimidating, then Boomtown is for you.  It may seem a little chaotic and wild compared to other festivals but underneath it is incredibly well-run and the vibe is all good.

Boomtown has a lively Kidz Town run by Creative Kids - creativekids_workshops@hotmail.com (creativekids_workshops null@null hotmail NULL.com).  Pizza making, Circus skills, Puppets, Theatre, Clay and all sorts of other activities were offered in 2011.  Programme for 2012 tbc.

The Site:

With 12 distinct and very different areas including 4 brand spanking new zones, there is so much just waiting to be discovered. These new additions will include showcasing the world renowned Bassline Circus as it rolls into town with a stage of its own.  Beyond the suburban area of the bassline circus is an outlying village where deep within its village hall you will find a diverse collaboration of performers, artists, musicians, and poets into a unique, magical and chilled out environment. Moving back to citylife the Boomtown officials have given the green light to build Mayfair Avenue, a more elegant and upmarket district with a casino, a gentleman’s club, hotels, banks, and daily roller discos. Also being sanctioned is the opportunity to visit Old Town as the gates get unlocked for only four days this summer. Residents of Boomtown, for the first time ever, will be able to step into a time machine and witness how their grandparents used to party with old skool disco’s blaring out nostalgic music from the 50’s onwards.

On top of all these new areas there are of course the familiar faithfuls: The Town Centre (Main Stage); The Lion’s Den (Reggae Stage) showcasing the biggest names in reggae, dub and roots; The Invisible Circus, featuring high octane big ska bands and breath taking circus skills; The Devil Kicks Dancehall, a twisted cross between a nineteenth century dancehall, a fairground ghost train and deserted 1980’s train station; Downtown, the seedy undercarriage of the city’s otherwise reputable veneer becomes apparent around every street corner and down every alleyway of this despicable part of town!
