KT Tunstall and Vintage Trouble to headline Swindon’s Summer Breeze Festival
The 6th Summer Breeze Festival will take place at Warren Farm, Liddington, near Swindon, on the 13th – 15th July 2012. Sensational Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall will be headlining the Summer Breeze Festival main stage on Saturday; and funky soul rhythm and blues movers Vintage Trouble, hailing all the way from Los Angeles, will headline the main stage on Sunday. Over the three days 50 quality acts will play across three stages including, The Musgraves, The Destroyers, Juan Zelada, Jake Morley, Marcus Bonfanti, Dirty Goods, Films of Colour, Ed Tudorpole, Luke Concnnon and many others. The line up is filled with amazing quality music acts from all over the UK all selected with care to provide our Breezers with the best festival yet. The full line up is available on our website.
Family fun will be provided in our dedicated children’s area, including a big fun art and craft tent where activities are offered at no cost on the day – all equipment is free to use and the kids get to take home everything they’ve made. There will be puppet shows, junk building, the silly hat stand, juggling ball making, ribbon skirts making and wearing, circus acts, silly games and even the creation of a giant mural. Plenty to keep the kids amused, including the big kids!
This year The Lizard Stage will be bringing their beautiful venue to the Summer Breeze Festival, providing a fitting home to the acoustic acts and late-night burlesque performances, along with scrummy food to suit all tastes. For our musicians and musician wannabes Anderwood Guitars and Didge Tall Paul will be providing instrument workshops throughout the weekend.
Enjoy not just quality music, but a variety of fine foods and a real ale bar (we ensure these are reasonably priced). Take a stroll around our vintage market, quirky festival traders and chill out in our tranquil healing garden. The vintage tent will be holding tea parties, fashion shows, make-up and hair styling workshops and much more besides.
The festival will open to campers at 6pm on Friday 13th July 2012. Two great party bands will kick start the weekend playing on the bar stage on Friday night. The festival opens in earnest on Saturday 14th of July at midday (gates open at 10am) when we will have a full schedule of bands on our main and bar stages, plus acoustic sets on the Lizard Stage going onto the wee small hours. On Sunday the music kicks off at 11am; the event will finish at 20.00 on the 15th of July. Camping is available for Friday and Saturday night.
Set in the rolling countryside of Wiltshire, the independently run Summer Breeze Festival is a family-friendly event, intimate and inclusive for audience and musician alike, tickets are strictly limited to 2,000 – a big step up from its humble beginnings of 150 people in 2006 – but still with an intimate feel. Profits from this festival are donated to Charity. Our chosen charities this year are ‘The Prospect Hospice’ and ‘Water Aid’. A variety of ticketing options are available ranging from £15 to £40; Children get in free!
What makes Summer Breeze unique?
The site is really well laid out and a safe place for parents to enjoy themselves without worrying about the kids too much. It is a small festival which means the chances of losing your child is much smaller than at bigger events, but we have still planned a lost child point with all kids wearing wrist band with parent contact number. The ticket prices are set to cover costs only to make the event inclusive for all. We offer a great variety of quality food and drink, which is sensibly priced – there is no sponsorship.
Summer Breeze is just loads of like minded people out to have a fantastically relaxed time with their families, whilst enjoying great music.
Site and Facilities:
Very level site, quiet camping area, maximum 100 metres from car park to arena and campsite (this is a big bonus if you have to cart loads of camping equipment!), good mobile coverage.
