With a venue for children THE DEN, events range from World Record Bunting Making, to Willow Weaving, Mask Making and Junk Modelling. Drama, Singing and an Open Mic Session are also on the menu. To end an exciting day, children can put the marquee (and themselves) to bed, with Story Time, an hour of stories designed to calm down even the most lively of children for a good night’s sleep.

Events for children up to, and including, the age of 11 are FREE.

For the older youngsters the Area 2 Youth programme has a full weekend of concerts and workshops, organised, run and performed by the under 25’s.  With a broad range of styles from Contemporary song writers, Traditional singers and musicians, Bluegrass and Americana musicians, there is always something to please all tastes. Past musicians have included the winners and nominees in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, as well as members from a variety of leading young bands around the country. The youth concerts are supported by the “Folk Rising“ programme of the English Folk Dance and Song Society, in association with the Arts Council, England.
