Despite a cracking line up and wonderful workshops and activities, The Big Tree Festival was cancelled in 2013. We do not know if it will run again.
Here is the organiser’s announcement:
It’s with great regret that we have to announce the cancellation of the Big Tree Festival. This unfortunate position has been brought about by unexpected poor ticket sales and a continuing poor forecast for the pursuing months. We have worked very hard to try to make the festival happen however given the current circumstances we have no choice other than to cancel.
We would like to thank all the suppliers and contractors, that have also worked very hard to try and put on the festival this year as well as the artists and agents that have supported us for this event; we are very sorry that we are not able to have them play.
We would also like to thank the many followers and fans who have supported us and we are truly very sorry for having to cancel.
This has been a very hard decision for us to make as the project meant a great deal, all involved have put in a massive amount of time and effort on a voluntary basis. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope you can understand and appreciate our difficult position.
