Buddhafield Festival

Buddhafield Festival is a beautiful coming together of like minded people.  Based on Buddhist spirituality and allowing plenty of opportunity for meditation and reflection.  This is a unique festival.

This is a very safe festival, and single mothers in particular have commented on how comfortable they feel there.  There is a dedicated Women’s Space for those who want it, and there is also a Queer Dome for those feeling the need for some support.  Families are very welcome.

There is a strict no drink or drugs policy.

Kids Area

Activities offered include arts/crafts; trampolines; swingboats; music; clowning; games; dressing up; processions; storytelling; creating plays from stories — mostly Buddhist ones — participation in the big Festival rituals. They also create a fun, safe space for parents and toddlers. In 2003 they introduced meditation games and meditative ‘story journeys’ and want to continue to explore what a kids area at a Buddhist Festival can offer. They also have a separate ‘Be-Tween Ages Space’ for older children and teenagers, offering DJing, circus skills, art, acrobatics and discussions.

The Kids Area is run by Majical Youth Theatre Company.

Women’s Space

This Space welcomes all women for tea, camping, fireside chat, morning meditation, personal yoga practice… and more tea!

The Space has its own workshop programme which has included topics like Sacred Sexuality, Pregnancy Yoga, How to Bring Up Your Baby Nappy Free & on a Raw Food Diet, Drawing The Buddha.
