A pop-up city where the impossible is possible and the abnormal is normal!

KidzTown at BoomTown has had a growth spurt in 2014.

At the heart of the city that is BoomTown, tucked between OldTown and the Mines, KidzTown provides it’s very own mecca of mischief and make-believe!

The ‘larger than life festival’ will see a crazy selection of activities and interactive installations inspired by the bonkers BoomTown culture. Previously described at FestivalKidz as ‘not for the faint hearted’, KidzTown provides a world of delight for mini Boomers to really ROAR!

The brand new Sandcastle Stage will see PG rated performances from Formidable Vegetable Sound System, Professor Elemental, Pyrates!, Disney Rascal, Jaipur Kawa Brass Band, Temple Funk Collective, Roberta Pia and many more.

towncentre-ssSee ‘Horace the Travelling Pliosaur Cinema’ a highly participatory cinematic experience where audiences travel in the belly of a huge Jurassic creature; The return of Emergency Exit Arts involving experiences using visual performance and processions; Gravity defying Fluidity Freerun; the wonderful Granny Turismo; circus skills workshops with Panic Family Circus.

Dr Spinoff and his Tricky Tricycles peddle in with 20 classic Raleigh BMX’s modified to do weird and wacky things and Barnaby – Bear with Me: a man, a bear, a unicycle, bananas and acrobatics!

Other World Arts will engage kids of all ages teaching via arts and crafts to raise awareness of environmental issues and loads of other fun and engaging workshops.  Biddy Bingo, Grannyoke, geodome climbing frames, Wutan Kidz Kung-fu, pizza and puppets, combination of yoga and play with Chota Yoga, Kat’s Whiskers, Mr Wolf shadow puppet shows, spongeboards, Pieman Beatboxer, inflatables, horse & cart rides, drum circle. Soft play, chill out areas and interactive learning, all sorts of make and do workshops including kites, hats, t-shirt printing and of course, the thing any self-respecting seaside resort needs, an almighty sandpit!

A beautiful bell tent will provide a baby changing, milk heating, relaxing breast feeding area and a space just to unwind and natter with likeminded parents.

BoomTown also offers family camping, a dedicated family car parking pass (closer to the family camping) and festibarrow to transport equipment from the car park to your camping spot.

“As parents of young children, over the past few years we have been working hard to try to ensure that BoomTown is as inclusive as possible for the whole family. Having grown up in and around the festival scene ourselves we understand the important values and life skills that can be instilled in young people and children through the level of freedom, open mindedness and social acceptance that comes from the festival environment and gatherings of like-minded people. We want people to come to BoomTown to experience a world of smiles, laughter, engagement, interaction and colour, and hopefully to leave with a bucket load of life-long memories and friendships.”
