A pop-up city where the impossible is possible, and the abnormal is normal!
Held in the beautiful Matterley Bowl Estate in Winchester, Boomtown is a magical city in a city but once you’re there you could be anywhere in the world…!!

Boomtown 2019 Review
Boomtown 2019 was another whirlwind of music, colour, laughter and good family times.
I don’t usually want to hype a festival up too much in case people are disappointed. With Boomtown there are no such worries. Despite being up against some of the worst weather I’ve seen at a festival. Boomtown was an exceptional weekend full of silliness, fun and loads of great music and dancing.
Into The Boomtown Maze…
If you’re going to Boomtown for the first time this year, you might have heard about the Boomtown Maze. But do you know what it is or how to get round it?
If this is something you have been wondering, or if you want some inside information on The Maze this year, I have written this guide for you!

Booming Kidztown!
Boomtown is a crazy immersive ever-changing landscape so there is always something new. It has many new stages and areas to explore this year.
Boomtown 2018 Review
The Greatest Show
My first Boomtown was like a child’s first visit to the circus. Bright lights, sound, whirling colour, and with that sense of genuine excitement and adventure you feel when you have no idea what’s going to happen next.
From the moment we walked out over the wonderfully relaxed Whistlers Green to look out over the Vegas style city of Downtown I knew I was somewhere special.
Boomtown – It’s Dare!
Gorillaz, craziness and more at 2018’s Boomtown Fair
I have been wanting to go to Boomtown for so long and we are finally going for the first time this year.
I admit I have what could amount to an obsession with interactive and immersive theatre. It was a love I discovered at Glastonbury Festival more than 20 years ago. I was a shy child and it took me a long time to come out of my shell. To pretend to be another character, to go along with a story and to pretend I’m in it, is a genuine thrill for me. Now that I have my own children I have involved them in this passion and noticed them finding confidence through joining in too. Read more…

Six reasons to be excited about 2018
A Glastonbury Festival fallow year is always a strange one for the people that go every year. I used to be one of them – and even now I still get a pang every year when it’s on – so I understand that you might have a festival-shaped hole to fill.
Still let’s hope that the 2018 hole isn’t just full of mud! Although even if it is, it won’t stop us from having fun.
The great thing is that now there are so many other festivals to go to (we have over 150 on our site, with more added every year) that you could use this year to explore something completely new. And if you find an amazing one, please do share it with us on our Facebook page, or email us on chat@festivalkidz.com!
