The good bits, the bad bits; all the fun and frolics of a festival brought to you by Festival Kidz reviews… and don’t forget the mud!
Larmer Tree Festival 2016 Review
Lovely Larmer Tree…
By Romany, with 4 kids (11, 13, 13, 13)
It’s the end of term, the children are flagging and I’m not sure that any of us have the energy left to do anything this weekend, let alone a festival! But we have such enduring happy memories of Larmer Tree Festival as a young family, that we wanted to see if it still retained its magic for us now they are a bit older. Read more…
Magical Faerie Festival 2016 Review
Magical Faerie Festival is a lovely little festival. It is with mixed feelings that I observe how it has grown, even since last year, and yet I’m so pleased for the organisers.
It’s great to be able to share the experience with more likeminded, wonderfully individual, folk. The only sadness I have with the secret being out, is that I don’t know how many more years it will fit in the beautiful location so close to where I live! Read more…
Summer Solstice 2016 Review
This is a lovely celebration, put on by colourful Sussex percussionists, The Pentacle Drummers. It is a gorgeous event, taking place at the home of Eastbourne Borough Football Club, Langney Sports Centre, in Eastbourne. Read more…
Lunar Festival 2016 Review

We’ve been home for a few days since the Lunar Festival and I’m still full of that happy, relaxed glow that comes when you’ve had a great time.
I’m in two minds about writing this review. Part of me want to tell everyone about how great Lunar is, and part of me wants to tell nobody so it stays a special secret between those “in the know” and doesn’t grow any bigger.

Elderflower Fields 2016 Review
Camping in half term is a family favourite event for us and this year we were even more excited than usual as we were off to Elderflower Fields; a family focused festival full of activities for the kids in beautiful Sussex countryside.
The festival is currently in its 5th year and has a capacity of 3000 which means it’s small and feels totally safe and friendly rather than some of the bigger festivals I have been to in my younger days. Based at Pippingford Park, an idyllic Sussex country estate less than an hour from home for us. Bonus!
Wood 2016 Review
“This might be the best festival we all go to all summer!” proclaimed Sam Lee, folk superstar, during his headline Sunday night set at Wood 2016 Festival. As the communal fire burned, the sun shone low in the sky upon the living roof of the solar-powered stage, and Sam Lee’s traditional folk songs drifted over the woodland setting, it was hard to disagree.
Chilled in a Field 2015 Review
Chilled in a Field keeps getting better and better. This was the fourth time our family have attended this event, and it was by far the best. A mix of great music, a friendly vibe, and an amazing venue has made this little festival one of our families’ firm favourites.
Starry Skies 2015 Review
It was our first visit to Starry Skies, although we were excited about it because it is run by the same people as Shambala (my favourite of the adult festivals).
Starry Skies doesn’t list itself as a music festival as such – it is more like a family camping holiday with activities. For us, this meant it was all the best family friendly parts of a festival without the crazy madness, and with the chance to get a decent night’s sleep!
Green Man Festival 2015 Review
We had the absolute pleasure of attending Green Man Festival again this year. We adore this beautiful festival and jumped at the opportunity of being able to review it again.
Lakefest 2015 Review
Lovely family festival Lakefest charmed us once again with its perfect combination of size, music and family friendly fun, all set around a gorgeous lake complete with water sports.
This was our second Lakefest, the fifth to take place overall and in fact the final one to occur at its current Croft Farm location, with a move to Eastnor Castle planned for next year. But more on that later.
