Towersey Festival 2012 Review

Towersey Village Festival 2012

Parent Review submitted by Clairem (with a 3yr old)

General – Really great and so cheap compared to other festivals at £8 a day for the main showground and under 5’s free. Very safe as quite compact. Showground area is separate to the music venues (it costs more for full access to all the venues and for camping). I only went as a showground entrant but music sounded good. Liked the idea of it being a separate area as it made it very family safe and indeed there were a lot of young families.  It was warm to hot this year, but there were plenty of covered areas if it had rained.

Kid’s stuff – Great kids line up, circus skills, physics and craft tent where they did little experiments and had lots of glue drawing and glitter and a little pop up play area with musicians. Outdoor wooden play area too. The flea show was really funny as was the life size Punch and Judy – especially when Mrs Punch, Mr Punch and the Policeman were running through the crowd!! Parachute games were great for my little one. Classic old timeless stuff!

Top Tip – Free face painting was great but get in there early to avoid the big queue.

Food – I did not see any children’s portions of anything but maybe it was just because I did not go to the right place

The Site – Immaculate. No litter. Clean toilets. Not far to walk. Phone coverage was good. Real ales and organic food. Reminded me of the Greenfields at Glastonbury in terms of quality street food.

The verdict:  This festival really is a hidden gem. I will definitely be going back next year!

9/10
