Roll up! Roll up! Camp Bestival’s Travelling Circus in Balham and Hackney Wick….
This May Big Fish Little Fish are holding their last two full London parties until September.
They are part of the Camp Bestival’s Travelling Circus tour and they’ve really pulled out all the stops with loads of special extras – synth workshops, dressing up box and and incredible interactive installation.
BFLF will also be resident in the Bollywood Tent at Camp Bestival this year on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
The fancy dress code for the two raves in May is, of course: “Circus!” and our guests can buy specially discounted Camp Bestival tickets at the events.
BALHAM, SUNDAY MAY 11th 2pm-4.30pm
Big Fish Little Fish returns to the fabulous ballrooms and theatre attached to The Bedford in Balham (77 Bedford Hill, SW12 9HD) on the 11th May with headline DJ Si Begg and support from Matt Sanger.
Korg UK will be running synth workshops for the over-3s (reserve your free ticket when you book) so kids can have a go at making their own electronic music with help from experts. Younger siblings can try out the tinyPIANO.
Also new to BFLF is Badaboom, a fantastic upcycled dressing up box and photobooth experience.
BakerChef will be running the home made cake stall and there is a wide range of food available at The Bedford.
HACKNEY WICK, SUNDAY MAY 18th 2pm-4.30pm
BFLF hits East London on the 18th May at Shapes, 117 Wallis Rd, E9 5LN with DJs Felix Martin from Hot Chip and Camp Bestival’s Matt Sanger.
The venue is all on the ground floor and is a fantastic studio space with an outside area as well.
Their friends from the computing department at Goldsmiths College are bringing a real-time motion capture installation called the ‘Harryhausenator’ (yeah, remember the sequence in Jason and the Argonauts?) – you can dance in front of it and see your moves copied by a giant skeleton projected on the wall!
There will be delicious home made cakes and savoury food on offer from BakerChef and gourmet artisan ice lollies from The Ice Kitchen.
At both parties there are circus themed craft activites led by Captain Cookie our child craft expert, a play area with mats, play tents and tunnels and balloons, club lighting, bubble machines, glitter cannons and a parachute dance to end the afternoon.
Freebies for the children include Happy Monkey smoothies, Bear Nibbles, transfer tattoos and glowsticks.
