This was our third visit to this festival and Victorious 2022 did not disappoint. The headline acts and range of performances rival those of the more well established festivals. The backdrop of the English Channel made this already great event idyllic. Victorious is simply amazing for families with an inordinate amount of varied activities in the huge kids’ area THAT ARE ALL FREE!!!! It is so good that they are even making it longer for 2023.
It’s wonderful to see the festival calendar filling up. There are a few festivals taking the year off, but most are running again, and we’re incredibly excited about 2022.
So what are the best family festivals for 2022, as recommended by Festival Kidz parents?
Here are our favourites, our tried and tested. The festivals we return to year after year. These are the festivals we give our Festival Kidz recommended stamp of approval.
For all the family friendly festivals running this year, please go to our A-Z, Map and Calendar.
It was our family’s return to festivals after 2 years, and we headed to the seaside to experience everything Victorious Festival had to offer.
Festival Kidz reviewer Catherine has visited Victorious in 2018 and 2019, but this year a change of plans meant that Myself (Adam), my wife 2 boys age 7 + 10 could attend for the first time and experience the festival for ourselves.
Victorious is one of our favourite festivals and we have a family ticket for TWO adults and up to TWO children to give away!
Set on the Seafront in Portsmouth, it matches a fantastic location with an excellent line up and a Kids arena packed full of activities that’s like a festival in itself.
Check out our 2019 and 2018 reviews to see how much fun our reviewer and her family had there.

Here at Festival Kidz we’re always asked ‘what is the best family festival’? It’s almost impossible to answer as so much depends on what you are looking for out of a festival. What are the best festivals for kids? For some parents, it’s all about the line-up, whilst others seek relaxation and reconnecting with the great outdoors and their loved ones.
Whatever you are looking for, our Festival Kidz writers all agree on one thing. When the kids are happy, you’re happy.
So what do the real critics, our own children think? We asked them!
We returned to Southsea for our second Victorious and had another wonderful time. Its beautiful seaside location in Portsmouth makes it easy to get to. The line up is always amazing, with some really big names. Because of this, my children (15 and 11) absolutely love it. The kids’ field has an astonishing amount for children of all ages. Brilliant weather, music, food and activities created a perfect bank holiday weekend by the sea.
People are always asking us which festival is the best!
There’s no easy answer to this as everyone has their own favourites.
Festivals have such a broad reach these days. There really is something for everyone. Do you want luxury or basic facilities, indie or world music, laid-back or party central?
I had been excitedly looking forward to Victorious for some time as the line up was astounding! I was also curious about how a festival with bands as big as The Prodigy could also manage to be a family friendly festival.
Victorious have this absolutely spot on. Both my children and I loved it. There was so much to do! We didn’t manage to get round it all but we gave it a good go (as much as the weather would permit) and found this to be a sensational and safe festival with more than enough for all of us.
