This year Chilled in a Field will be held in the Bentley Wildfowl & Motor Museum. This location is even more perfect for families as it is a wonderful magical place for children to visit, and entry to Bentley is included in your ticket.
Bentley has lakes with flamingos, swans and ducks, a vintage motor museum, an adventure playground, and (the most exciting for us) a miniature railway and little hobbit houses in the woods!
Festival Kidz were granted an exclusive interview with the organisers of Chilled to ask the all important questions about the new venue that we felt our readers would want to know…
1. How far is the car park from camping?
A. The parking is in the adjacent field so very close.
2. How big is the site overall?
A. The distance from the far edge of the camping field to the centre of the festival entertainments is about 250m. By my calculations that makes it somewhere in the region of 500m² or 5382 ft² of space.
3. Will there be more space for camper vans?
A. Yes, we have more room than ever for camper vans and this year have a chemical toilet point.
4. Have you fixed the problems we had from too few toilets last year?
A. Yes, this year we will have more toilets including a dedicated family-only toilet.
5. Any other family friendly additions?
A. We’re adding more family-friendly features this year including showers; baby changing area near the main stage; play tent with soft play area; family-friendly food options.
6. Will we have to pay extra for the museum and the miniature train?
A. We’ll be arranging free guided tours of the wildfowl centre and motor museum as well as dedicated times to ride the train, when it will be free. At other times the train is £1 per person.
(And of course, the all important…)
7. Can we still fly a kite in the new location?
A. There’s a lot of space, so we think so!
So you heard it here first – more family friendly facilities, free miniature train rides, a free tour of the wildfowl centre and motor museum, lots of space but the same cosy friendly vibe! We can’t wait!
