Discontinued
Location: Scholey Park, near Coningsby & Tattershall, Lincolnshire
Size: 3000
Ethos: The family friendly festivals aim to be as green as possible and support fair trade, and hopes to have a local cider company on site selling homemade cider and mead
Around the festival:
The festival will also include a bubble tent, and circus area with fire shows, jugglers, poi and the usual alchemy additions! The site will have many works of art and sculptures, stalls, more food traders than last year, tarot readers and communal fire pits, and every day will be a dress fancy day.
Especially for the kids:
There will be a large children’s area at Alchemy containing circus skills, workshops, bubbles, face painting, shows, talks and performances. There will even be a children’s open mic. Everything in the children’s area will be free.
Site details:
The walk from the car park to the campsite is less than five minutes on an established farm track and, like the rest of the site, completely flat.
Parent Review 2011 by: Diane (with 3 kids aged 3, 6 and 9 years old)
Getting to the festival and setting up camp: As I was able to take my car and caravan to where I wanted to park, unload the car and then take it to the car park the setting up and arrival was totally unstressful. I am a single mother of 3 boys so this was brilliant. The others campers around us were very friendly and one man stopped to help me get my caravan stable.
Entertainment – Line up and Kids Activities: There was plenty for my children to get involved with: music, art, dance, circus and plenty more and they never got bored. Even at night children could still get involved with things unlike most festivals where there isn’t anything for children to do at night. I thoroughly enjoyed the music played at all stages and dance tents.
What would you change / improve (if anything)? More water taps.
Any other comments and your Top Tip: My children look forward to going every year and come away with great stories and memories.
Site and Facilities: I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the toilets and there were plenty of toilets so you never had to go far. I only found one place for water which was quite a walk away for us to fill up our water butts so maybe one closer would have been better.
Did you feel safe? All the security I spoke to where very friendly and very helpful. The 2 men at the car park were very friendly and had a great sense of humour – a refreshing change.
Most memorable moment? They did a fantastic fire show which myself and my children enjoyed.
Would you go again? Definitely!
10/10

Thanks for the glowing report on Alchemy festival. I have one question I’m hoping I will get a reply somehow…Is there an alchemy festival this year 2016? I havn’t been able to find any info on it and no way of buying tickets so sad. Can anybody at all help me in the right direction??????
Hello Deme,
From a brief search it seems the Alchemy Festival has been cancelled for 2016. However, it seems some of the people involved have got together to create a new event, the Equinox Festival. There’s some information on their site about the Alchemy Festival.
