We have always wanted to visit Elderflower Fields. But we always seem to have something on over the first weekend of the May half term. This year the stars of our many online calendars finally aligned. When school finished we jumped in the car and headed straight to Sussex. Even the weather seemed to be on side with the forecast dry, warm and sunny all weekend.

Truck Festival 2015 Review

Once again, Hill Farm in South Oxfordshire opened up its gates on the 15th and 16th July 2015, for the biggest Truck Festival to date. With a sensational line up and a whole host of kid’s activities, the weekend looked a dead cert for one to remember. Read more…

Truck Festival 2014 Review

funStarting Truck Festival 2014 on the last day of school before the summer holidays was a genius idea. The kids finished early at midday and we made our way straight over to set up camp.

One thing that’s amazing at this festival is you’re allowed to take in your own alcohol. As long as you have no glass, you can take whatever drink you like.

As we made our way through the local village it seemed everyone was making great use of the nearby Co-op to stock up.

Although of course, there was a superb selection of drinks available inside the festival. Roughly £4 would get you a pint of cider/ beer or a glass of wine, and £5 would get you a cocktail at the beach bar – yes a beach bar, with a sand floor and even a surf board! Read more…

Kidz Questions with Nick Cope

You may remember Nick Cope as the lead singer and songwriter with The Candyskins back in the 1990s?  Well, he’s now a solo performer, but he these days he’s busy writing records and performing his music for children.  He has built up a very strong following of little, and not so little, people from all over the world!

“So many parents have told me what a saviour I have been on their long car journeys, the whole family have listened to the songs hundreds of times and they are still happily singing along.”

Nick will be playing at some of the festivals we’re going to this summer so our little Festival Kidz were desperate to ask him their questions…  Read more…
