This was the third Into the Trees for my family. We absolutely adore this perfectly chilled out little festival because it just seems to get everything right. As in previous years, we chose to visit for one day rather than the whole weekend.
Once again, we wished we had camped for the entire festival. The setting in Ashdown Forest is truly idyllic, and whilst there are easily enough activities to keep a family busy for three days, it is simply a gorgeous place to camp.
Into The Trees actively encourages families to enjoy, explore and respect our natural environment. The message is such an important one, and delivered in the best possible way, in a beautiful place.
We were all happy to be back at Chilled in a Field, one of our family’s favourite festivals. 2019 was the festival’s fourth time at Bentley, and it’s a great venue.
We returned to Southsea for our second Victorious and had another wonderful time. Its beautiful seaside location in Portsmouth makes it easy to get to. The line up is always amazing, with some really big names. Because of this, my children (15 and 11) absolutely love it. The kids’ field has an astonishing amount for children of all ages. Brilliant weather, music, food and activities created a perfect bank holiday weekend by the sea.
Beautiful Days is without a doubt a top contender for best weekend of the year. This goes not just for my family, but for thousands of its loyal patrons.
Every year the Levellers host an amazing festival that I think is impossible to out do, and yet it continues to improve. We have been to six Beautiful Days now as it is so brilliant for families. Indeed it is good for every age group, and I would have just as good an experience (although different) with or without children.
The last time I’d spent 5 nights at a festival was Glastonbury 2007; and I won’t pretend that I wasn’t a little bit daunted at the prospect of doing it with two children in tow. Read more…
We fell head over heels in love with the Green Man magic. It’s easy to see why this gorgeous gathering sells out so quickly and many families return year after year.
Boomtown 2019 was another whirlwind of music, colour, laughter and good family times.
I don’t usually want to hype a festival up too much in case people are disappointed. With Boomtown there are no such worries. Despite being up against some of the worst weather I’ve seen at a festival. Boomtown was an exceptional weekend full of silliness, fun and loads of great music and dancing.
Festival Kidz families are all passionate about festivals but it is becoming increasingly obvious that the impact they have on our environment is massive.
It’s hugely important to us that we find solutions to continue to be able to share outdoor events with our kids but it’s essential they move towards a more sustainable future.
Green Gathering Festival is leading the way with a few of our favourite family festivals and we absolutely love them for it. Thanks to all those working in events across the country who are making the effort.

The fantastic line up coupled with the amazing experience we had had last year drew me in. Before I knew it the kids were making signs and counting down the days. We prepared our picnic, put our frankfurters in a flask with hot water (try it – makes brilliant hot dogs), and headed to Hatfield House.
