Festival reviews from the year 2019
Camp Bestival 2019 Review
This year I took my son to our eighth Camp Bestival. It’s testament to just how much we love the festival that we’ve not missed a single one since we first went back in 2012.
An absolutely incredible amount is on offer for families. Everyone who goes to Camp Bestival has a unique festival experience. No matter how much you jam pack into your days, you’ll only experience a small sample of all the treats on offer because there is just so much!

Starry Skies 2019 Review
Before I went to Starry Skies, I spent hours pouring over the map that I had been sent. Trying to decide where best to camp, which luggage drop off to use, how far away from the toilets I should be and how crowded the different campsites would be.
Upon arrival we decided to take our tent with us and choose a spot before we unloaded. We walked through the efficient wristband exchange and headed towards the festival.
Very quickly we realised that the site was tiny! Before we knew it, we had walked past the centre camp barn and trotted straight through the health and wellbeing area.
Nowhere was crowded and so we looked around for level ground before pitching camp directly opposite the Neptune bag drop off.

Larmer Tree Festival 2019 Review
I don’t think I ever really enjoy the first few hours of a festival; the worry about the weather, how to get everything onto site on my own, whether we’ll get a decent camping pitch.
It’s all a bit stressful until we get settled, and this years Larmer Tree was no exception. We arrived much later than planned, in torrential rain and with two tired and grumpy kids!
But as always we pulled our socks up, put our wellies on and got stuck in.
Timber Festival 2019 Review

Timber is a small, yet beautiful festival, nestled in the National Forest in Staffordshire. I was so pleased that our family were able to return to Timber’s second year.
Timber is a celebration of the beauty of the landscape and the forest. It feels very respectful of the landscape it sits within.
The site is impeccably clean, there is open space to wander around and it is strangely peaceful! Not something that I expect at a music festival…
Nozstock 2019 Review
This festival has become a favourite with our little family, and we had a brilliant time once again this year! Nozstock is set in the beautiful, rolling hills of Bromyard, Herefordshire on the first weekend of the school summer holidays in England.
Compared to some, Nozstock may be a fairly small festival, but there is nothing pint-sized about the variety of entertainment on offer. There are 11 stages/zones offering a large variety of music, comedy, theatre, dance, film and plenty of activities for children of all ages.

Great Wonderfest 2019 Review
Great Wonderfest 2019 certainly was a great and wonderful festival. It was hard to believe that this was the first ever Great Wonderfest, as everything had fallen into place beautifully. I took my eleven year old son, and we had so much fun together, playing and enjoying the food and music. We really didn’t want it to end.

Great Wonderfest – Revolutionizing Inclusion
On the whole, festivals are becoming more and more accessible. Festival Kidz have been happy to report that festivals are generally now providing carers’ tickets, accessible campsites, toilets, viewing platforms and more recently BSL interpreters and autism friendly sessions for certain activities. Great Wonderfest have clearly taken note, and for their first ever festival, have managed to take inclusion several steps further…
