Here are our top picks for 2015!
Whether a festival is good for you depends on what music you’re into and what other things you like doing at festivals, as well as the age of your kids. If you are new to festivals with kids, you may want to read our guide to Choosing the right Family-Friendly Festival.

2014 was a fantastic year for family friendly festivals – we reviewed more than ever before and visited so many that it made judging the awards extremely difficult. If your favourite festival is missing from this list, please feel free to comment below!
Blissfields 2014 Review
4th-5th July 2014
Blissfields (or ‘the one with the hammocks’ as my eldest calls it) secured its place in our festival calendar last year, with its perfect blend of great music and small friendly vibe. This year it did not disappoint, improving on its facilities and offering even more for families.
In the Fields of Bliss and Angels
Blissfields is one of those festivals that just manages to get everything right. We’ve only been once but it’s already become a family favourite because they manage to fit everything – great bands, hidden areas, fantastic kids’ entertainment – all in a very small space, yet it somehow retains its laid back and friendly vibe… just without all the walking!
The children’s area run by Angel Gardens is undoubtedly the highlight for families, and so Blissfields secured us an exclusive interview with the lovely Angel Sam – she talks about Blissfields, working at festivals, gaining a sense of belonging and the importance of spare socks.
Best festivals for toddlers 2014
The toddler stage is possibly the most difficult age to do festivals, but it doesn’t mean it can’t be done!
For really young kids we recommend small festivals, particularly if you are not an experienced festival-goer or camper. For a successful festival experience with toddlers you need space to run around or relax, less crowds, smaller distances between campsite, arena and carpark, a good selection of child-friendly food and a willingness to take things at your toddler’s pace (see also Naomi’s Top Tips for doing Festivals with Toddlers).

Blissfields 2013 Review
Blissfields is exactly the right size for a family festival and with an atmosphere so friendly you will instantly feel part of a community. It is neither too big that your children will get lost or too small that there is nothing to do.

Blissfields 2012 Parent Review
2012 Blissfields Weather: Beautiful, sunny, warm. We were VERY lucky.

I was performing my lullabies in Angel Gardens but it was also our first festival as a family with our 3 young children, 6, nearly 4 & 21mths
Getting to the festival:
As we were part of the Angel Gardens Crew, we camped in their designated area but the family camping area for visitors was cleverly and thoughtfully positioned to the back of the main stage and much quieter (don’t get me wrong there is still music!) and near the main entrance so I expect not too far to transport stuff. Plus you could hire some rather marvellous canvas wheel barrows to move your gear about – genius idea!

… it’s that feeling where you’re stood in the middle of a field and the familiar embrace of peace bubble surrounds you, protecting you from the thoughts and worries of the outside world…
