Farmer Phil’s Festival 2016 Review

Farmer Phil’s is such a difficult festival to write a review about. It doesn’t tick any of the ‘family friendly festival’ boxes – the facilities are very basic and there’s not so much entertainment on offer as it’s so small, and there’s no dance music (although this might be good news for some!)

However, the festival was voted ‘best tiny festival 2015’ by our readers, and now that we have visited we understand why. It’s certainly different from all those ‘identikit’ commercial festivals out there. And it will certainly suit those parents wanting to take their children properly back to nature.

Geronimo 2016 Review

As it was not possible for one of the Festival Kidz team to attend Geronimo 2016, here’s a review from guest blogger Colette of We’re Going on an Adventure

The main focus of our May bank holiday this year was Geronimo Festival at Tatton Park.  Now in it’s second year, Geronimo Festival promised to be even bigger and better than last year.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Geronimo Festival last year so had high hopes for a repeat performance.   Read more…

Lakefest 2016 Review

by Tim, Caroline, Gwilym (4) and Hazel (6)

lakefest 2016 tentHaving heard all the good reviews of this festival we were really looking forward to this one. It had moved from Croft Farm to Eastnor Castle which gave a great backdrop with the lake at the festival edge. Upon arriving I bought the organiser Lee Martin’s book ‘Hippie’ which is well worth a read, it’s just a bit of a shame more of his values aren’t portrayed in the festival. We all had a great time but it was more of a nice weekend at a festival rather than a particularly ‘festival’ experience.

Shambala 2016 Review

p1050685

One of the things I love about Shambala is that the organisers obviously love it as much as I do. The extra thought given to details at this festival is simply incredible.

This year they put on so many extra little stages and acts that I’ve decided to concentrate on the new things! If you want to see what else is on offer – I would love it if you would go and read my other reviews. I reviewed Shambala in 2013, 2014 and 2015 as well (this is how much I love this festival).

Green Man 2016 Review

p1050332I’ve wanted to go to Green Man for a long time now, and I’m so happy we finally made it there. Set in a lush green Welsh valley, the site could not be more beautiful and acoustics could not be better. The main stage, called the Mountain Stage, has been designed for sound and scenery and is an impressive achievement. Blissfields 2016 Review

More fun than a house party!

Blissfields 2016

The big question was finally answered this year – can Blissfields survive bad weather? Every other year it had been blessed with hot sunny days, but in 2016 we were dealt heavy showers and storms. This could have dampened our spirits but it didn’t, as the answer was a definite YES! Read more…

Cornbury 2016 Review

Dancing, relaxing, playing, laughing, feasting…

These are the first five words that spring to mind when I think back on our four days at Cornbury. I think it’s testament to a really great festival, especially where children are involved, when you can come back feeling relaxed and switched off. We were lucky to have exactly that experience.

Goodwood Revival 2016 Review

Step back in time to a bygone age of style and sophistication

Goodwood Revival has been on our wish list for years. My other half is a big car fan and I love a chance to dress up, particularly in 60’s gear. But is this festival family friendly?
