Jimmy’s Farm Sausage and Beer Festival 2015 Review
With Evelyn aged (very nearly) six and Martha aged two and a half
There seemed to be a lot of excitement about Jimmy’s Farm Sausage and Beer Festival this year. Talking about it beforehand I found many people who had been before and loved it. So we were really looking forward to the weekend. Now it’s over I have mixed feelings. Read more…
Wychwood 2015 Review
This year we kicked off our festival season with a trip to Wychwood in Cheltenham. It’s been on my festival wish list for a while now and I’m pleased to report that it didn’t disappoint. Despite torrential rain just before we arrived I was immediately struck by how friendly everyone was. Our Sat Nav somehow managed to take us to a trade entrance but we were cheerfully pointed in the right direction by some rather damp looking stewards and soon had our wristbands on ready to go. The Big Feastival 2014 Review
29-31 August, Alex’s Farm, The Cotswolds
Reviewed by Nikki Payne and family
We love food. And we love music. And we love spending the weekend together as a family in a field. So we thought The Big Feastival would be the perfect combo. And indeed if you fancy a weekend of watching celebrity chefs, in a field, with a side serving of live music and a huge dollop of fete then this is the perfect festival for you.
Lollibop 2014 Review
August 15-17 2014
Hatfield House, Hertfordshire
I’ve always been intrigued about Lollibop and its ambition to be the “big bash for little people”. But having been held in London for the last few years I’ve been put off from travelling down and negotiating the Underground with small people, so was pretty happy to see that the new venue was in the grounds of Hatfield House. As my husband had a prior commitment my dad came with me and Evan stayed with my mum for the day.

Wychwood 2014 Review
A Lovely 10th Birthday Party
Looking back through past line ups, Wychwood appears very impressive for one of the smaller festivals, and for their tenth birthday celebrations, they pulled out all the stops!
This is definitely an extremely family orientated festival, almost exclusively attended by young families. A massive focal point of the festival was The Parade, which everything stopped for on the Sunday afternoon. The huge kids’ field boasted countless opportunities among the impressive array of various craft activity stalls for making treasures to exhibit in the Sunday Parade, which was a beautiful procession of activity organisers and children – so proud of their achievements.

My boy ‘LOLLIBOP’s extra special birthday treat!!!
My little cutey couldn’t control his excitement when told of his extra special birthday treat: we were the lucky owners of 5 VIP tickets to the LolliBop Festival, Sunday 18th August 2013 courtesy of Festival Kidz!
Justin Fletcher – Hand’s Up!
Album release postponed until 26th March 2012
There’s barely a parent amongst us who doesn’t know who Justin Fletcher is and we reckon his album is going to give the traditional X Factor chart success a run for its money this Christmas. Probably best know for his Mr Tumble character in Something Special, he has been involved in zillions of other children’s TV programmes from Shaun the Sheep to the Tweenies.
Love him or hate him, Justin was by far the most popular Children’s Performer at festivals this summer, drawing massive crowds whenever he was on stage (even when he was just sound-checking!!).
We thought he was great and it seems that everyone who watched him agreed – when it comes to engaging his audience, Justin is a true master!
Wychwood – through a festival trader’s eyes

By Zoe (mum and festival trader)
Taking your kid to a festival can be a brilliant experience for all, although there can be a few ups and downs.
Last year we took the experience a stage further, and took our 5 year old daughter to Wychwood Festival in Cheltenham – where we were to also be traders for the weekend.
We tried to prepare for any eventuality, weather etc. We asked her to pick some toys and things to keep her amused. Van and car loaded to the gunnels with stock, bedding, food and toys, we were ready to go.
Cutting to the chase, we drove down on a lovely sunny day, which got steadily warmer, and by the time we arrived, the sun was beating down, so we had to get the stall up quick to give us some shade. We were situated in a brilliant position, right next to the main stage. What we didnt think about were the drawbacks to our pitch.
